- Có nhiều trường hợp oxy cũng gây ra những tác dụng không mong muốn. Đặc biệt là khi thở với nồng độ cao và kéo dài khi dùng sai cách. Gây ức chế hô hấp, làm chậm nhịp thở, giảm thông khí, gây CO2 trong máu tăng cao. Cần tránh đối với bệnh nhân tắc nghẽn phổi mãn tính.
- Ngộ độc trong máu do dung nạp nhiều oxy vào trong phổi, điều này ảnh hưởng nghiêm trọng đến sức khỏe
- Oxy quá cao sẽ tạo các gốc oxy làm tổn thương màng phế nang – mao mạch. Gây tổn thương tại phổi, và có thể làm xẹp phổi do oxy thay thế hoàn toàn nito trong phế nang.
- Nguy cơ giảm hoạt động các vi nhung mao đường hô hấp, giảm hoạt động bạch cầu, làm khô niêm mạc, mũi họng, phế quả
- Cách sử dụng máy tạo oxy một cách lạm dụng thở oxy khiến phổi dần bị chai các tiểu phế quản. Nó sẽ làm tổn hại nghiêm trọng đến quá trình chuyển hóa oxy, chức năng phổi bị suy giảm và người bệnh phải phụ thuộc nhiều hơn.
- Tăng lây lan vi khuẩn theo hệ thống dẫn, bình chứa nếu không vệ sinh kỹ.
- Đặc biệt oxy rất dễ cháy nổ vì vậy sử dụng tại nhà phải đảm bảo an toàn phòng chống chay nổ. Không có người hút thuốc trong nhà, kiểm tra công tắc điện.
Hướng dẫn cách sử dụng máy tạo oxy tại nhà
Hiện nay trên thị trường máy tạo oxy tương đối đang dạng, nổi bật hơn cả là dòng máy tạo oxy của Homed, Krober… hầu hết những loại máy này được nhập khẩu từ nước ngoài về.
Khi sử dụng máy tạo oxy bạn cần biết các bước cơ bản:
- Đặt chọn vị trí máy sao cho phù hợp thuận tiện với bệnh nhân thở. Chú ý cần cách tường, đồ nội thất xa những vật dụng dễ gây cháy nổ và xa nhà tắm, đảm bảo khô thoáng.
- Cần kiểm kiểm tra, gắn các phụ kiện thích hợp với ổ cắm oxy trước khi sử dụng thiết bị. Nếu máy tạo oxy không sử dụng bộ phận làm ẩm thì chỉ cần kết nối ống thông mũi của máy đến đầu ra oxy. Còn nếu máy oxy có bộ phận làm ẩm thì thực hiện theo các bước như sau:
- Tháo cốc tạo ẩm.
- Mở nắp cốc, đổ nước tinh khiết vào cốc đến vạch đã được chỉ định và vặn nắp lại như cũ.
- Gắn cốc vào thân máy.
- Cắm dây dẫn vào cổng giao trên cốc lọc.
- Cắm điện và khởi động máy.
- Nhấn khởi động máy bằng cách nhấn nút nguồn, chờ khoảng vài phút để máy cung cấp đủ lượng oxy với độ tinh khiết phù hợp.
- Quan sát tình trạng hoạt động của máy, nhìn đèn báo hiệu đã hoạt động, đèn báo lỗi, và âm thanh bíp
- Cân chỉnh lưu lượng oxy phù hợp với bệnh nhân theo chỉ định của bác sĩ.
Trường hợp khi bệnh nhân đang ở mức độ 1:
- Nếu sử dụng máy tạo oxy 3 lít thì nên chọn mức lưu lượng oxy tạo ra ở vạch oxy 2 – 2,5 lít/phút.
- Nếu sử dụng máy tạo oxy 5 lít thì nên chọn mức lưu lượng oxy tạo ra ở vạch oxy 2 lít/phút.
Trường hợp khi bệnh nhân đang ở mức độ 2:
- Đối với người bệnh đang ở mức độ 2 nếu sử dụng máy tạo oxy 3 lít thì. Nên chọn mức lưu lượng oxy tạo ra ở vạch oxy 3 – 3,5 lít/phút.
- Nếu sử dụng máy tạo oxy 5 lít thì nên chọn mức lưu lượng oxy tạo ra ở vạch oxy 3 lít/phút.
Trường hợp khi bệnh nhân đang ở mức độ 3:
- Đối với người bệnh đang ở mức độ 3 nếu sử dụng máy tạo oxy 3 lít thì nên chọn mức lưu lượng oxy tạo ra ở vạch oxy 3 lít/phút.
- Nếu sử dụng máy tạo oxy 5 lít thì nên chọn mức lưu lượng oxy tạo ra ở vạch oxy 4,5 – 5 lít/phút.
- Sau đó lắp các ống nối, dây thở để bệnh nhân bắt đầu điều trị oxy.
- Tắt nguồn sau khi dùng, vệ sinh sạch sẽ ống thở tiếp xúc với người bệnh.
